Kutch is a land of extraordinary beauty and ancient craft. For over 500 years, the artisan families of Bhuj, Bhujodi, and Anjar have woven, dyed, embroidered, and shaped the most extraordinary textiles in India.
Kutch Art exists to bridge the extraordinary craft of these artisan families with the people who appreciate and understand it. We pay fair wages, document craft provenance, and ensure every piece carries the full story of its making.

How It's Made
The Craft Process
From raw fibre to finished masterpiece — a journey that can take up to 35 days.
Source
We source Gajji silk, Kala cotton, and Pashmina directly from farmers and herders, ensuring fair wages from thread one.
Resist
Thousands of tiny resist knots are tied by hand — for our most complex Bandhani pieces, a single artisan works eight hours on knots alone.
Colour
Fabrics are submerged in natural dye baths of indigo, pomegranate, turmeric, and madder — multiple baths for deeper hues.
Finish
Each piece is inspected, pressed, and photographed before our craft documentation card is written and the product is wrapped.

Fatima Ismail
Bandhani Master
Fatima inherited the craft from her grandmother at age 12. Today she leads a collective of 40 women artisans, each piece carrying her signature dense dot-work that has won national recognition.
Rohit Vankar
Master Weaver
Rohit is the third generation of the Vankar weaving family. He works on a pit loom using traditional Dhurrie techniques, creating textiles that bridge Kutchi tradition with contemporary sensibility.
Kaji Khambhadia
Embroidery & Mirror Work
Kaji specialises in multiple embroidery traditions — from the geometric precision of Suf work to the elaborate floral patterns of Zardozi. Her mirror work has appeared in international fashion collections.
Santosh Patel
Lippan & Kalamkari
Santosh blends the ancient Lippan mud-relief tradition with contemporary wall art sensibilities. He also practises Kalamkari hand-painting, creating sarees that are as much art as garment.
